Working to your event dates.

Tell us when people need to arrive and what they will be doing. Setup, rehearsals, training and technical work may start well before the public event. We assess those activities at the outset so the application reflects the actual schedule.

We confirm what is needed to lodge and whether we can take the matter on within the time available. Our requests are focused on the information and documents needed to progress the application.

The right visas for the whole group.

Players, coaches, engineers, officials, crew and performers may need different visa arrangements. We identify the appropriate route for each role and coordinate the applications around the group’s travel and work plans.

For organisers managing several arrivals, we keep the requirements and outstanding items clear so the work can move forward promptly.

Experience across sport and entertainment.

Our experience includes securing visas for Sydney to Hobart race crews over multiple years, as well as bringing in F1 engineers and talent for modelling and music events.

The people working behind an event are part of the operation too. We account for their activities and arrival dates alongside those of the competitors or performers.

Urgent visa enquiries.

Include the event dates, intended arrival, each person’s role, citizenship and current location, and any existing Australian visa. If an application is already underway, tell us when it was lodged and provide any departmental request or decision.

We move promptly on the work within our control. Home Affairs decides applications and controls its decision timing; a particular grant date cannot be promised.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can you handle an event visa application?

Send the event and travel dates, the person’s role and current visa position. We can then confirm whether we can take the work on in the time available and what is needed to lodge promptly. Home Affairs controls the decision timing, so we cannot promise a grant date.

Does everyone travelling to the same event use the same visa?

Not necessarily. Players, coaches, officials, technicians and accompanying family can have different activities and circumstances. Assess the roles and arrangements before assuming one route fits the whole group.

Is the Sporting Activities stream always the right route?

No. Home Affairs describes different temporary activity arrangements. Even an overseas sporting team may need a different stream from a person playing for an Australian organisation. The activity and operating arrangements determine what should be assessed.

Do you work with organisers and crews as well as competitors?

Yes. Our experience includes visa work for Sydney to Hobart race organisers and crews across multiple years. The work behind an event is part of the immigration assessment.
