Information and purpose.
We collect information you provide when you enquire, book an appointment or engage us. This may include contact details, employment and business information and, where relevant to a matter, identity, relationship, financial or other sensitive information.
We use that information to respond, assess whether we can act, provide the agreed services, administer appointments and comply with professional and legal obligations. You may make an initial general enquiry without supplying a full matter file; withholding information needed for advice may limit what we can do.
Disclosure and overseas recipients.
Depending on the matter, information may need to be provided to government bodies, counterparties, professional advisers and service providers involved in the work. We consider confidentiality and applicable requirements when doing so.
An international matter may involve advisers or authorities in the relevant countries, including the United Kingdom. Calendly is used for booking and may process information in the United States or other jurisdictions described in its privacy notice. Ask us about the recipients relevant to your matter before supplying sensitive information.
Website and booking services.
This website does not currently run Google Analytics, Google Ads tracking or remarketing scripts. Ordinary hosting and security systems may process technical request information such as an IP address.
Opening a Calendly link, or choosing to load its calendar here, connects you to Calendly and its cookies and privacy practices. The calendar is not loaded until you choose it. LinkedIn and other external sites have their own policies. Read Calendly’s privacy notice.
Security and retention.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information and retain it for the services, legal requirements and professional obligations that apply. Retention and access arrangements for a client matter are addressed in the engagement. Avoid sending sensitive information through an initial website enquiry.
Access, correction and complaints.
Contact us to request access to or correction of personal information, or to raise a concern about its handling. We may need to verify identity and consider any lawful restriction before responding.
If a concern is not resolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner to discuss available complaint options. OAIC privacy complaints.
