Current agreement coverage
DAMA coverage, occupation access and concessions can change when agreements are introduced, renewed or revised. We check the current Home Affairs information and the designated area representative’s requirements before advising on a role.
A business considering regional sponsorship should check the agreement’s exact geographic coverage, occupation list, endorsement requirements and available concessions with the relevant designated area representative. A neighbouring location or similar role is not enough to establish access.
Work location and duties
A useful enquiry includes the business address, the actual work location, the duties, proposed remuneration and recruitment history. If a candidate is already identified, their qualifications, employment history and current visa position also matter.
Working across several locations can raise different questions from a role based in one covered area. We examine the operating arrangements before deciding which framework may fit.
Other sponsorship options
A DAMA is one possible framework. Standard employer sponsorship or another labour agreement may be more suitable. The objective is a route that fits the employer and the person, rather than selecting a program because its name sounds promising.
